Hi, I'm Marty Cole. The short version: I bought a Ninja Slushi in the summer of 2023 to cut down on a truly indefensible gas-station slushie habit, told myself I'd use it twice, and then could not leave it alone. A Creami followed that winter when I wanted the same thing for ice cream. Cream & Slush is what happened after a year of me writing down what actually worked so I'd stop guessing.

Here is the thing that turned a hobby into a website: most of the recipes I found online clearly had not been run through the machine they were written for. A Slushi base with too much sugar never freezes and just spins into cold soup. Too little and it locks into a solid wall the paddle can't turn. A Creami pint frozen without enough fat or a stabilizer comes out like a scoopable brick of frost. I kept following recipes that ignored all of that, wasting pints and pouring failed batches down the sink, and eventually I got stubborn about figuring out the actual ratios myself.

So that is what I do here. I develop and test every seed recipe on the site on a real Slushi or Creami in my own kitchen, usually more than once, and my wife and kids are the first (and harshest) taste testers. If a Creami comes out chalky or a slush freezes into a brick, it does not get published, it goes back for another round. Because the Slushi comes in a few tank sizes, I write those recipes to auto-scale to whichever one you own, and I flag the sugar and alcohol levels that push a base outside the range the machine can actually freeze. Creami recipes are dialed in for a single pint you freeze solid and then spin. I care about texture as much as flavor, because nobody remembers a drink that tasted fine but felt wrong.

A quick note on the "I" versus "we" you'll see around the site: the recipes, guides, and the opinions are mine, Marty. Cream & Slush is owned and operated by Aurenia Group, a small independent publisher, and "we" refers to that team, the folks who keep the site running, moderate reader reviews, and hold the content to our editorial standards. When a recipe here says "submitted by" someone else, that reader wrote it and gets the credit on the page.
