Blue raspberry isn't a real fruit and I don't care, it tastes like every good summer of my childhood. Mixed cold lemonade with blue raspberry syrup in the Ninja Slushi and the Blue Raspberry Lemonade Slush came out electric blue and tart, like the bottom of a snow cone you'd fight your sibling over. My nephew took one look and asked if his tongue would turn blue. It did. Worth it. Start with less syrup than you think, then taste. That stuff is sweet, and the lemonade needs room to do its tart thing.

Directions
- 1Stir the blue raspberry syrup into the lemonade until evenly colored.
- 2Add fresh lemon juice for a tart kick.
- 3Pour the bright blue mixture into the Slushi vessel under the max line.
- 4Seal the lid and choose the SLUSH preset.
- 5Let it churn until slushy, around 30 minutes.
- 6Pour into a tall glass for a candy-shop classic.
Tips
- Pour your lemonade and blue raspberry syrup directly into the Slushi bowl at room temperature, not chilled, so the machine can properly churn and freeze it.
- Check the slush consistency around the 30-40 minute mark by looking through the bowl, then add more time if needed for a thicker, more scoopable texture.
- Stir the syrup into your lemonade before pouring to ensure even flavor distribution throughout the slush as it churns.
Variations
- Swap the blue raspberry syrup for cherry or grape syrup and use the same cold lemonade base for a different fruity slush flavor.
- Mix in a splash of vanilla extract or coconut extract to your lemonade and syrup combination for subtle extra flavor depth.
FAQ
- Can I use frozen lemonade concentrate instead of cold prepared lemonade?
- Yes, thaw your frozen concentrate first and mix it with water according to package directions, then pour it into the Slushi bowl at room temperature. The machine will handle the freezing from there.
- Why isn't my slush getting thick or scoopable?
- Make sure your lemonade and syrup are cold when you pour them in, and give the machine the full 40-60 minutes to churn and freeze properly. If it's still too liquid, your room temperature may be very warm.
- Can I make this less sweet?
- Use less blue raspberry syrup than the recipe calls for, or dilute the syrup with a bit more lemonade before pouring into the bowl. You can adjust to your taste preference.
- How long does the slush stay good in the Slushi machine?
- The slush is best enjoyed right away while it's fresh and fluffy, but you can keep it in the machine on its chill cycle for a few hours. Once it melts, you can pour it back into the bowl to re-churn it.
