Okay so my wife kept asking me to make something that tasted like that peanut butter banana smoothie from the food court, and I figured the Ninja Slushi could handle it, so here we are with the Peanut Butter Banana Cream Slush. You just pour in the whole milk, heavy cream, a real ripe banana mashed smooth, peanut butter, and honey, then let the machine churn for about 30 to 40 minutes until it's this thick, scoopable, creamy slush that absolutely does not taste icy. Practical tip: mash the banana really well before it goes in so you don't end up with weird frozen chunks. She asked for seconds and didn't even look up from her phone.

Directions
- 1In a bowl or measuring cup, mash the ripe banana until very smooth, then whisk in the whole milk, heavy cream, peanut butter, honey, vanilla extract, and salt until fully combined and no lumps remain.
- 2Pour the liquid base into the Ninja Slushi pitcher, making sure it is within the fill line.
- 3Select the MILKSHAKE preset on the Ninja Slushi, then set the coldness level to 10 bars for a thick and creamy result.
- 4Run the machine for 25 minutes, allowing the base to churn and transform into a smooth, cold peanut butter banana slush.
- 5Once the cycle is complete, dispense into a chilled cup and top with whipped cream, crushed peanuts, and banana slices if desired.
Tips
- Pour your milk and cream mixture into the Slushi bowl at room temperature, not chilled, so the machine can properly churn and freeze it into that perfect slush consistency.
- Check the slush after 30 minutes by pressing the dispense button, since thicker slush might take 45 to 60 minutes depending on your kitchen temperature.
- Use ripe bananas with a few brown spots for sweeter flavor and easier peanut butter mixing in your base.
Variations
- Swap creamy peanut butter for almond butter and add a pinch of cinnamon for a different nutty flavor.
- Use chocolate syrup instead of honey and add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder for a peanut butter chocolate slush.
- Replace half the whole milk with coconut milk for a tropical twist on the classic recipe.
FAQ
- Can I use natural peanut butter instead of creamy peanut butter?
- Natural peanut butter works but may separate or clump since it has more oil. Stir it very well into your liquid base before pouring into the machine, or warm it slightly to help it blend smoothly.
- Why didn't my slush freeze solid after an hour?
- Your kitchen might be too warm, so the machine takes longer to chill. Give it another 15 to 20 minutes, or check that the Slushi bowl was properly inserted and sealed. Room temperature ingredients also chill slower than expected.
- How long can I store leftover slush in the machine?
- Keep it in the machine and it'll stay slushy for a few hours, but flavor and texture are best right after it finishes churning. You can also transfer it to a freezer container, though it'll become icier over time.
- Can I make this less rich or lighter?
- Cut the heavy cream in half and use whole milk for the rest, or substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream. You'll get a thinner slush that still tastes great with less richness.
