Threw a Sex and the City rewatch night mostly as an excuse to make this Frozen Cosmopolitan in the Ninja Slushi, and it absolutely earned its spot. Vodka, triple sec, cranberry, and lime come out pink, tart, and slushy smooth, like the bar version got sent through a snow machine. My wife declared herself the Carrie of the group and nobody argued because they were busy refilling. Adults only, obviously. Go with real cranberry juice cocktail, not the no-sugar diet kind, because you need that sugar for it to freeze into a proper slush instead of staying soupy.

Ingredients
- Vodka8 oz
- Triple Sec4 oz
- Cranberry Juice16 oz
- Fresh Lime Juice3 oz
- Cold Water12 oz
- Simple Syrup3 oz
- Orange Twistoptional1 garnish
Makes ~50 oz Β· est. 9.6% ABV
Directions
- 1Stir vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, lime juice, water, and simple syrup together.
- 2The cranberry and syrup provide the sugar needed to freeze cleanly.
- 3Pour the pink mixture into the Slushi vessel below the max line.
- 4Seal the lid and choose the SPIKED SLUSH preset.
- 5Let it churn until slushy, about 36 minutes.
- 6Dispense into a chilled glass with an orange twist.
Tips
- Pour your chilled liquid base into the Slushi bowl at the start so the machine can churn it continuously into that perfect slushy texture, roughly 20-60 minutes depending on your machine and base temperature.
- Keep your base ingredients cold before pouring, use fresh lime juice instead of bottled for better flavor, and taste the syrup level since over-sweetening slows freezing.
- Scoop and serve into chilled glasses as soon as the slush reaches your preferred consistency, because the longer it sits in the bowl, the more it'll freeze solid.
Variations
- Make a Cranberry-Orange version by swapping half the cranberry juice for fresh orange juice and adding a splash of orange liqueur instead of regular Triple Sec.
- Try a lighter Cosmopolitan by reducing the simple syrup by half and adding an extra tablespoon of fresh lime juice for brightness without the sweet sludge effect.
FAQ
- Why didn't my drink freeze into slush in the Slushi machine?
- Your base was probably too warm or too sweet. Always chill your ingredients before pouring, and don't overdo the simple syrup, which raises the freezing point. Also, give it the full 50-60 minutes if you're in a warm kitchen.
- Can I use bottled lime juice instead of fresh?
- You can, but fresh lime juice tastes sharper and cleaner in a Cosmopolitan. Bottled juice often tastes flat and can throw off the balance with all that sweetness from the syrup and Triple Sec.
- How do I store leftover slush or the unfrozen base?
- Keep any unfrozen base in the fridge for up to 3 days in a sealed container. Slush stored in the freezer will eventually turn to ice, so it's best served fresh from the machine.
- Can I make this less boozy?
- Yes. Reduce the vodka by a couple tablespoons and add the same amount of cold water or extra cranberry juice to keep the volume up. The machine needs enough liquid to churn properly.
