Frozen Lemon Drop Martini

We made this Frozen Lemon Drop Martini for my sister's birthday and she declared it dangerous, which in her vocabulary is a compliment. It comes out of the Ninja Slushi tart and slushy, like a lemon drop someone froze and handed you with a straw. The Margarita Man lemonade mix carries the sweetness so you don't have to fuss with sugaring rims unless you want to. Heads up: keep the vodka measured. Too much booze and the slush stays loose and sad instead of holding that nice spoonable texture. Adults only on this one.

Your machine size

Slushi 64 oz (Standard) Β· quantities scaled Γ—1

⚠️ Over the hard-spirit limit

~12.0 oz of 40% spirit exceeds the ~10.0 oz max for this batch size. Dilute or scale down the liquor.

Ingredients

  • Margarita Man Summertime Lemonade Mix7 oz
  • Vodka12 oz
  • Water45 oz
  • Lemon Sugaroptional1 garnish

Makes ~64 oz Β· est. 7.5% ABV

Directions

  1. 1Combine the Summertime Lemonade mix, vodka, and cold water in a large pitcher.
  2. 2Whisk until the concentrated sugar base is fully dissolved and integrated with the spirits.
  3. 3Pour the mixed liquid directly into the Slushi machine.
  4. 4Select the SPIKED SLUSH setting and allow the machine to run for 45 minutes.
  5. 5While freezing, moisten the rims of martini glasses with a lemon wedge and coat with lemon sugar.
  6. 6Dispense the frozen cocktail directly into the prepared glasses.

Tips

  • Pour the lemonade mix and vodka into the Slushi bowl at room temperature, then add water to the fill line for the best consistency
  • Check the slush after 30 minutes by trying to scoop it; if it's still pourable, give it another 10-15 minutes to fully set
  • Serve immediately after dispensing since the drink will start to separate as it warms up

Variations

  • Swap the vodka for light rum or gin if you prefer a different spirit while keeping the lemonade base the same
  • Add 1-2 ounces of fresh lemon juice to the bowl for a sharper, more citrusy flavor than the mix alone provides
  • Use half the vodka and add 2 ounces of sparkling water or club soda right before serving for a lighter, less boozy version

FAQ

Can I use fresh lemon juice instead of the lemonade mix?
You'd need to add sugar or a sweetener since fresh juice alone won't have enough sweetness for the Slushi to freeze properly. The lemonade mix is formulated specifically for this machine.
Why is my drink still pourable after 45 minutes?
Your room temperature might be too warm, or you may have poured above the fill line which slows the freezing process. Try moving the machine to a cooler spot and refill to the proper line next time.
Can I make this ahead and store it in the freezer?
The Slushi machine works best when you make and serve immediately, but you can store finished slush in a freezer-safe container for a few hours and scoop it out as needed.
What if I want to make it less strong on the vodka?
Reduce the vodka by 1-2 ounces and add that amount of water instead, keeping the total liquid at the fill line so the machine churns correctly.
