Made this Frozen Red Sangria in the Ninja Slushi for a backyard get-together and it carried the whole party (21+ only). Margarita Man sangria mix, a Garnacha red wine, a splash of brandy and water on SPIKED SLUSH, and it pours frosty and fruity like the pitcher version your aunt makes, except cold and slushy. My neighbor Karen, who normally nurses one glass all night, had three and started dancing. Tip: don't go heavy on the brandy, too much hard liquor and the alcohol keeps it from freezing into slush. Toss some chopped fruit in the cup and drink responsibly.

Ingredients
- Margarita Man Sangria Mix5 oz
- Garnacha Red Wine9 oz
- Brandy1.5 oz
- Water17 oz
- Chopped Fresh Fruitoptional1 cup
Makes ~32.5 oz Β· est. 6.1% ABV
Directions
- 1Pour the concentrated Sangria mix, Garnacha red wine, brandy, and cold water into a large pitcher.
- 2Whisk the liquid until the dense syrup concentrates are fully dissolved.
- 3Pour the red wine mixture into the Slushi container and close the cover.
- 4Select the SPIKED SLUSH preset and allow the machine to process for 45 minutes.
- 5While freezing, chop fresh apples and oranges and place them in the bottom of serving glasses.
- 6Dispense the frozen sangria over the fruit and serve immediately.
Tips
- Pour your liquid ingredients directly into the Slushi bowl and let the machine do the work for 20-60 minutes, stirring occasionally if you peek inside.
- For a thicker slush texture, check it around the 45-minute mark and let it churn longer if needed; thinner results come earlier.
- Keep your serving glasses in the freezer while the machine runs so the drink stays cold longer after you tap it out.
Variations
- Swap the Garnacha for a Cabernet Sauvignon for a bolder, deeper red sangria.
- Use white wine and white sangria mix instead for a lighter frozen version, adjusting the brandy to taste.
FAQ
- Can I use a different type of red wine?
- Yes, any dry red wine works, though Garnacha keeps the sangria balanced and fruity. Avoid very tannic wines like Cabernet unless you prefer a drier taste.
- What if my drink isn't getting slushy?
- Make sure your liquid goes straight into the cold bowl and the lid is sealed properly. If it's still too thin after 60 minutes, your base may be too warm; let it chill in the fridge first.
- How long can I store frozen sangria in the machine?
- Drink it within a few hours of it reaching the right texture; the slush will start to separate and water down if it sits longer.
- Can I make this less boozy?
- Yes, reduce the brandy by half and add extra water or club soda to the base to keep the volume right for the machine.
