That first spoonful of the Peach Mango Matcha Smoothie Bowl hits cold and creamy, almost like soft-serve but denser, and my wife looked up from her phone which basically never happens. The Ninja Creami did its thing on a frozen coconut milk and Greek yogurt base, and the matcha keeps it from tasting like straight fruit candy, just earthy enough to feel intentional. Practical tip: blend your matcha powder into the coconut milk before you freeze the pint, otherwise you get green streaks and your kids ask questions. Mine did.
How it spins
Tip: freeze the pint on a level shelf for a full 24 hours. If the first spin looks crumbly, add a splash of milk and run Re-spin.
Ingredients
- Frozen Peach Slices0.75 cup
- Frozen Mango Chunks0.5 cup
- Coconut Milk0.5 cup
- Greek Yogurt0.25 cup
- Matcha Powder1 tsp
- Honey1 tbsp
- Granolaoptional0.25 cup
- Fresh Peach Slicesoptional0.25 cup
- Sesame Seedsoptional1 tsp
- Chia Seedsoptional1 tsp
Directions
- 1Whisk the matcha powder into the coconut milk until dissolved, then combine with the frozen peach, frozen mango, yogurt, and honey in a bowl and stir until uniform.
- 2Pour into a Creami pint under the max fill line, seal, and freeze flat for 24 hours.
- 3Run the SMOOTHIE_BOWL preset. If crumbly, add a splash of coconut milk and Re-spin.
- 4Scoop into a bowl and top with granola, fresh peach slices, sesame seeds, and chia seeds.
Tips
- Freeze the pint completely solid for at least 16 hours before spinning; if it's still a little soft in the center, give it another 4-8 hours for the best creamy texture.
- If your smoothie bowl comes out too crumbly or icy after spinning, add a splash of coconut milk or regular milk and run the smoothie bowl program again to get that perfect scoopable consistency.
- Measure your matcha powder carefully, about 1-2 teaspoons, and whisk it with a little warm water before mixing into the base to avoid clumps in the frozen pint.
Variations
- Swap the peach for frozen pineapple chunks and use lime juice instead of honey for a tropical matcha twist.
- Use almond milk or cashew milk in place of coconut milk and add a tablespoon of almond butter to the base for a nuttier flavor.
FAQ
- Can I use fresh peaches and mango instead of frozen?
- You can, but you'll need to freeze them first, and fresh fruit releases more water which can make the pint freeze unevenly. Frozen fruit is easier and gives better results.
- My smoothie bowl came out too crumbly, what do I do?
- Add a small splash of milk or coconut milk to the pint and pop it back in the Creami for a re-spin on the smoothie bowl program. This gives you that creamy, scoopable texture.
- Can I make this lighter or lower in calories?
- Use low-fat Greek yogurt instead of regular, reduce the honey to a teaspoon, and swap coconut milk for a lighter alternative like almond or oat milk. The frozen fruit keeps it naturally sweet and creamy.
- How long does the frozen pint last in the freezer?
- Keep it in the freezer for up to a week before spinning; after that, ice crystals can form and texture suffers. Once you spin it, eat it right away for the best result.
