This Strawberry Cream Chill happened because I had leftover strawberry puree and a bottle of strawberries and creme liqueur staring at me. Ran it on the milkshake preset and the Ninja Slushi turned it into this thick, creamy strawberry shake that drinks like a boozy version of the strawberry milk I lived on as a kid. My wife said it tastes like a strawberry Quik for adults, and she's not wrong. The simple syrup matters here, it keeps the milk from freezing grainy. Don't skip it. This is a 21+ treat, sip it slow.

Directions
- 1In a large pitcher, combine the Strawberries & Creme Liqueur, strawberry puree, whole milk, cold water, and simple syrup.
- 2Whisk the mixture thoroughly until the puree is fully integrated and the sugars are evenly distributed.
- 3Pour the prepared mixture into the Ninja Slushi vessel.
- 4Select the MILKSHAKE setting and run the machine for 30 minutes until it reaches a smooth, thick consistency.
Tips
- Pour your chilled base ingredients directly into the Slushi bowl right before starting, as this helps the machine achieve optimal slush texture in the shortest time.
- If your mix seems too thick to pour easily, thin it slightly with a bit more water or milk before adding to the bowl, since the machine churns rather than blends.
- Check the consistency around the 30-minute mark by looking through the bowl, as ambient temperature affects freeze time and you want to catch it at peak slush texture.
Variations
- Swap the strawberry puree for fresh raspberry puree to create a berry blend that pairs beautifully with the creme liqueur.
- Use half and half instead of whole milk for a richer, creamier Slushi that's closer to a frozen custard consistency.
- Add a splash of vanilla extract to the simple syrup step to introduce a subtle vanilla note that complements the strawberry creme flavors.
FAQ
- Can I use frozen strawberries instead of strawberry puree?
- Fresh puree works best since frozen berries are already partially crystallized and can create an uneven texture. If you only have frozen berries, thaw and drain them completely, then puree them fine before mixing into your base.
- Why didn't my mixture freeze into slush after 45 minutes?
- Check that your base is actually cold and that you're not over-diluting with extra water, which lowers the freezing point. Also ensure the Slushi bowl itself is properly sealed and the machine is running continuously without pausing.
- Can I make a lighter version with less alcohol or no alcohol?
- Yes, you can reduce the liqueur amount and increase the simple syrup or milk to compensate, but reducing alcohol too much may change the freezing behavior slightly since alcohol lowers the freeze point. Test a smaller batch first to dial in your preferred sweetness and texture.
- How long can I keep the finished Slushi in the machine?
- The Slushi stays at optimal consistency for about 30 minutes in the machine as it continues to churn. After that, it may start to refreeze more solidly or separate, so serve within that window for the best drinking experience.
